NEW ORLEANS -- President Barack Obama visited the House of Blues in the French Quarter for a fundraiser Wednesday night.
Obama showed up at the venue around 5:45 p.m. while surrounded by Secret Service agents and a motorcade of vehicle.
Attendees at the House of Blues were invited to pay between $250 and $5,000 to go to the event. The top fundraisers also got to take a picture with the president.
Obama starting off the speech by having some fun with the audience.
'I got to admit I was thinking about just blowing everything and going to get something to eat,' he said.
Obama said the next time he comes down to New Orleans, 'drinks are on me.'
This is just one of two fundraisers where the president is scheduled to make an appearance. He is also scheduled to speak at the National Urban League Conference at the Morial Convention Center at 7 p.m., which you can also watch live on WWLTV.com.
