BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- A 47-year-old man from Krotz Spings told his co-workers he was 'going to win some money' before checking his Powerball ticket, and that's just what he did.

David Stelly matched the first five numbers of the Sept. 29 drawing but missed the Powerball, making him the state's newest $1 million winner. Stelly received $700,000 after state and federal taxes were withheld. The winning numbers drawn were: 14, 18, 28, 29, 57 and Powerball 8.

An avid motorcylclist, Stelly said he buys his Powerball tickets every weekend at Hebert's Boudin & Cracklins in Opelousas. The store will get a one-time $10,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize, for selling Stelly the winning ticket.

Stelly says he plans to set aside college funds for his children and perhaps buy a new motorcycle.
