NEWORLEANS - On Wednesday, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries joined in the search for a missing Jefferson Parish teacher.
They searched the lagoons in City Park and Bayou St. John and looked in the 17th Street Canal for Terrilynn Monette and her black Honda Accord.
The department joined at the request of Representative Austin Badon.
Agents used four-wheelers, trucks, boats and a plane to search remote areas across New Orleans, including New Orleans East and the West Bank. These out-of-the-way areas are common places that cars are dumped. Later in the day, agents will use boats to search City Park area, according to Badon.
Monette was last seen in March after leaving a Lakeview bar. Officials believe she may have been heading home to her Gentilly apartment.
Monette's family said they are so grateful to all of the people that have helped out. The reward was increased to $20,000, according to Crimestoppers.
'My baby, I know she's touched people everywhere,' said Toni Enclade, Monette's mother.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
