TANGIPAHOA, La. - The Village of Tangipahoa issued a voluntary boil-water advisory Tuesday due to a water main break and a failure of a disinfection system.
The water main break was fixed on Tuesday, but the disinfection system had to also be repaired, according to officials.
Just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the boil water notice was still in effect while DHH test results were pending.
The Village of Tangipahoa Water System will rescind the advisory upon notification from the Office of Public Health at the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. The water must be shown safe based on additional water samples collected from the water supply system.
