NEWORLEANS-- Police are warning bars and restaurants to be on the look out for two gunmen robbing employees around closing time.
'They either catch them outside and escort them inside or they catch them when the business doors are left unlocked while they're attending to their clothing duties,' said NOPD Lt. Shaun Ferguson.
Police say the men hit Domino's Pizza on Chef Menteur Highway around 1:20 a.m., June 2. They are also accused of robbing Cooter Brown's in Uptown around 4:30 a.m., last Thursday.
The NOPD released pictures of the suspects, caught on camera during the robberies. One suspect is wearing a green Halloween-type mask and blue hoodie with California Berkley on the front. The other is wearing a gray hoodie and a ski mask.
'It appears they have really mapped it out,' said Lt. Ferguson. 'They have really sat and watched these businesses to watch when they open, when they close, what exactly it is that they are doing when they do close.'
Mark Murrett from Domino's Pizza says the robbers roughed up his store manager. He maintains the gunmen went through a lot trouble for a little bit of money.
'We keep catch at a minimum in the stores,' said Murrett. 'We utilize frequent cash drops and we have armored car safes that cannot be accessed.'
Domino's is now offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the robbers.
'We'll be only too happy to pay that reward if we can catch these suspects,' said Murrett.
Police are asking businesses and employee to take some extra precautions, especially around closing time until they catch the two robbers.
'I would definitely suggest that they have two or three employees at the close of business, monitoring what is going on outside,' said Ferguson. 'When you're doing your closing, make sure the doors are secure so then no one can just enter your business while you're cleaning up your business or counting your money or anything of that nature.'
If you have any information that can help police locate the gunmen you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
