NEWORLEANS-- As fans mourn the loss of radio personality Kidd Kraddick, his colleagues took to the airwaves to remember the late host.
Kraddick, who was 53, died while he was in town for a Kidd's Kids charity golf tournament.
'We lost Kidd over the weekend. He is gone but he is definitely not forgotten,' said J-Si, the co-host of Kidd Kraddick in the Morning.
David 'Kidd' Kraddick passed away over the weekend at Oschner's West Bank campus.
But the thousands of fans who tuned into his show still got to hear his voice Monday morning.
A Best of Kidd Kraddick show was put together in his honor.
'It's our first show ever without Kidd,' J-Si said on the air. 'He left us this weekend. And Kidd's big thing in general, I was talking about it yesterday, was he always wanted to be prepared. And since none of us know how to deal with this or what to do or how to go about doing this, we kind of reverted back to what Kidd taught us and be prepared. I tried to write something last night, and every time I would try to write something I would just start typing and I would just break into tears.'
Kraddicks co-host spent the morning talking about how much he meant to them.
At times they held back tears as they compared him to a father figure. But they couldn't seem to stay away from all of the good memories, and those were the ones that seemed to help them laugh away the tears.
Pending a toxicology report, the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office said that Kidd's cause of death was cardiac related.
Kraddick had an enlarged heart, which indicated high blood pressure and three diseased vessels.
One of his arteries also had an 80 percent blockage.
