NEWORLEANS-- Police say they arrested a man after his employer found that he had been downloading child pornography on his office computer, according to the Officer Hilal Williams, a spokesperson for the New Orleans Police Department.
Earl Frederic, 66, was arrested Wednesday, Williams said. Police were notified by Frederic's employer.
'In a joint investigation by the NOPD Child Abuse Unit and the Attorney General's office, a warrant was obtained for Frederic's office where a computer and several thumb drives were confiscated. A search warrant was subsequently obtained for Frederic's residence where investigators confiscated additional evidence of child pornography,' Williams said in a statement.
He was booked with possession of child pornography and held on a $25,000 bond. He posted bond and was released.
According to police, the Attorney General's office will conduct computer forensic examinations on the evidence confiscated. The initial investigation revealed numerous child pornography images.
