It has been an especially violent few days with several shootings in New Orleans, but the violence is not limited to Orleans Parish.
Sunday alone, seven people were shot in the New Orleans Metro Area, including a 4-year-old child, and three teenagers.
There seems to have been a recent spike in shootings in several parishes and the violence has not stopped yet.
Wednesday morning, Saint Bernard Parish Sheriff's Deputies are looking for the gunman behind a deadly shooting in Violet.
It happened in the 3100 block of Daniel Drive around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
That's where deputies found a 19-year-old man shot multiple times on the front lawn of a home.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
At around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, a double shooting in Marrero took the life of a 21-year-old man and left a 20-year-old man in unknown condition in the hospital.
Then just before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, a 37-year-old man was found dead after being shot in the head, and left lying on a street in the Saint Roch neighborhood.
The disturbing trend is that many of these victims are very young.
Another common thread in the local violence is that in most cases suspects have not been named in the violent acts.
If you have any information that can help authorities in any of these recent shootings, you're urged to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111, you do not have to leave your name, and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
