NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are investigating two separate shootings Sunday that left two people wounded.

The first shooting happened at about 5 p.m. in the 3400 block of Pittari Place in Algiers.

According to NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson, a 31-year-old man was shot at that location. He's suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The second shooting happened in the 9000 block of Morrison Drive in New Orleans East.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, was also shot multiple times.

Both victims are in critical condition.

No word from police on a possible suspect or motive. Police don't believe the shootings are related.
