Dec. 28, 2006: Orleans Parish grand jury indicts seven NOPD officers on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Aug. 13, 2008: Judge Raymond Bigelow tosses out the state's case against the 'Dangizer Seven.' Judge says the case was tainted by a prosecutor who improperly used officers' grand jury testimony to secure indictments.
Sept. 30, 2008: U.S. Attorney Jim Letten says federal authorities will examine the case for possible civil rights violations.
Aug. 5, 2009: FBI seizes files from NOPD homicide division, including files belonging to Sgt. Arthur Kaufman and Sgt. Gerard Dugue, who helped with the investigation of the Danziger incident.
Sept. 26, 2009: FBI shuts down Danziger Bridge on a Saturday in order to take photographs, video and reconstruct the scene from the day of the shootings.
Feb. 1, 2010: Lt. Michael Lohman retires from NOPD after 21 years on the force. Lohman supervised Kaufman and Dugue during the investigation.
Feb. 25, 2010: Lt. Michael Lohman pleads guilty to conspiracy to obstruct justice.
March 11, 2010: Former detective Jeffrey Lehrmann pleads guilty to one count of misprision of a felony concealing knowledge ofcriminal activity and signs a plea deal making him a government witness.
March 24, 2010: Sgt. Gerard Dugue, who helped Kaufman with the Danziger investigation, receives a target letter and retires after 33 years with the NOPD.
March 30, 2010: Officer Michael Hunter charged by federal prosecutors in a bill of information accusing him of conspiracy to obstruct justice and misprision of a felony concealing knowledge of a felony.
April 1, 2010: Civilian Marion David Ryder, charged with lying to the FBI and felon with a firearm in bill of indictment (impersonating a cop by wearing a law enforcement t-shirt, lied about someone in a group of people firing a gun as he gave chase on Danziger).
April 7, 2010: Former officer Michael Hunter pleads guilty in deal making him a government witness.
April 16, 2010: Former officer Robert Barrios charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice.
April 28, 2010: Marion David Ryder pleads guilty.
April 28, 2010: Former officer Robert Barrios pleads guilty in a deal making him a government witness.
May 21, 2010: Former officer Ignatius Hills charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and misprision of a felony
June 4, 2010: Hills pleads guilty in a deal making him a government witness.
Sept. 22, 2010: Jeffrey Lehrman sentenced to the maximum three years by Judge Lance Africk.
Dec. 1, 2010: Michael Hunter sentenced to the maximum eight years in prison by Judge Sarah Vance.
Jan. 19, 2011: Retired Sgt. Gerard Dugue granted a severance from the other defendants, to be tried Sept. 26.
June 22, 2011: Trial scheduled to begin for remaining five Danziger defendants.
