NEW ORLEANS, La. -- For Catholics across south Louisiana, Wednesday is the day to honor St. Joseph with a unique tradition.

In churches and schools, people have been decorating St. Joseph altars with donated foods, and in the French Quarter, a long line of worshipers are expected at the Old Ursuline Convent, where Archbishop Gregory Aymond is giving a traditional St. Joseph's Day blessing.
