NEW ORLEANS -- The Saints have announced the signing of a New Orleans native that they hope will pad the team's depth on the offensive line.

General Manager Mickey Loomis said the team signed tackle Jason Weaver, who prepped at Edna Karr High School, and cut wide receiver Chris Givens.

Weaver spent last season on the Miami Dolphins practice squad after he went undrafted in 2013.

Givens, who is not to be confused with receiver Chris Givens on the St. Louis Rams, has missed the last two years while on injured reserve.
