ST. TAMMANY, La. -- St. Tammany District Attorney Walter Reed is the subject of an FBI investigation, according to multiple sources who confirmed that subpoenas have been issued related to Reed's fundraising activities.
Officials at the Castine Center confirmed that they received a subpoena for records. Castine Center is a reception hall in Mandeville's Pelican Park that has been used by Reed for several fundraisers.
Reed has been the subject of intense media scrutiny in recent weeks, including stories about his multiple sources of income, lavish spending from his campaign war chest and his youngest son being the recipient of a lucrative Tulane legislative scholarship from a state representative.
