NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Police Department said they are searching for a person of interest in two separate Algiers incidents over the past weeks, which included an armed carjacking and an aggravated burglary.
Officers said they are seeking 27-year-old Shameka Patin, also known as 'Moonie', as a person of interest in these separate incidents, which both occurred on the 800 block of Belleville Street.
On June 11, officers said they responded to an armed carjacking at the 800 block of Belleville Street. Patin's name came up during the investigation, according to police.
On Friday, police responded around 6 p.m. to the 800 block of Belleville Street again, this time for an aggravated burglary. Police said Patin knew the victim of the burglary, and she is known to visit the area.
