METAIRIE, La. ― Former Saints safety Usama Young has signed with the Cleveland Browns, his agent Andy Simms said.

Young, a fifth-year player out of Kent State, will be moving closer to where he played collegiate football. The move also give s him a chance at a fresh start.

The defensive back was mired in the depths of the Saints deep secondary and while he was a consistent special teams contributor, he never could burst into the lineup.

He finished with 16 tackles, three passes defensed and a sack this past season. Additionally, his 11 special teams tackles was fourth on the team. He finished his New Orleans career with 62 total tackles and three interceptions.

With Young's departure, the Saints have now lost three players to free agency. Nose tackle Remi Ayodele will sign a three-year contract with the Vikings, reports said, while running back Reggie Bush will sign with the Miami Dolphins in a sign-and-trade the was settled Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, the Saints have re-signed receiver Lance Moore, cornerback Leigh Torrence and left tackle Jermon Bushrod. They've also added linebacker Will Herring to the fold.
