NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in New Orleans East, the fourth person to be hit by gunfire in a four-hour span Saturday.
Shortly before 7 p.m., the 25-year-old was found shot to death in the driveway of a home in the 8600 block of Gervais St., according to Officer Frank Robertson, a police spokesman.
The man had been shot several times and died on the scene. His name has not been released.
Just about an hour before, two people were shot near Cambronne and Palm Streets, Robertson said.
A man and woman were shot in that area and taken to the hospital. The man was shot in the back and the woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
A black vehicle was seen leaving the area.
Around 4 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was shot in the 7th Ward.
