THIBODAUX, La. -- A pickup truck driver is accused of drunkenly crashing into a Thibodaux house, hitting a gas line and driving away.
When the truck hit the gas line, gas started to leak out, so bystanders were evacuated, police said.
Josiah Delarge, 28, 836 N. 8th St., Thibodaux, was arrested today after officers were called to the crash just before midnight the day before in the 100 block of North 8th Street, Thibodaux Police said. They were told that the driver had fled the scene.
Delarge owned the truck, and when officers found him he matched the description witnesses gave, police said.
Delarge had a blood alcohol content of .168, police said.
He is charged with hit and run as well as third-offense DWI, police said. He bonded out of the Lafourche Parish jail the same day he was arrested.
