Changes could be on the horizon for TOPS, the state's scholarship program, because the program is getting more expensive to run.

The Tuition Taskforce is now recommending that the standards be raised.

According to The New Orleans Advocate, the board wants to raise the minimum grade point average requirement from 2.5 to 3.0. The board is also suggesting that ACT score requirements be raised from 20 to 23.

The task force is expected to submit a report to the State Legislature in January.
