The Saints have signed a free agent defensive tackle and waived a cornerback in deals Tuesday.

General Manager Mickey Loomis announced that the club had signed defensive tackle Alex Daniels. The 6-2, 265-pound tackle entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2010. He had stints on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad in 2010 and spent two weeks of the 2011 season on the practice roster of the New York Giants, where he played fullback.

Daniels was a defensive tackle at the University of Cincinnati, where he had eight sacks as a senior in 2009 including four against Miami of Ohio and two vs. Florida in the Sugar Bowl.

The club has also waived cornerback Cord Parks.
