NEW ORLEANS -- Labor Day weekend goes beyond barbecues for New Orleans.

It's Southern Decadence, and that means tens of thousands of people are in town.

The Decadence parade kicked off with people dressed in some elaborate costumes on Bourbon Street.

The festival is becoming known as Gay Mardi Gras, and every year it brings more tens of thousands of people to the French Quarter.

Tourism officials say Decadence has a $100 million economic impact on the city.

This year's theme is 'Live, Laugh, Love,' and the festival continues through Labor Day.
