METAIRIE, La. The same four Saints who sat out practice a day ago remained out Thursday as time to get healthy grew short leading up to New Orleans' game at New England.
Right tackle Zach Strief missed his second consecutive practice with an ankle injury. Bryce Harris, a swing tackle who can play both sides, would be the next player up in case Strief can't go.
'Yeah, that's my job as a backup be always ready,' Harris said. 'I've been ready for the first five weeks, and I'm gonna be ready for Week 6.'
Harris was in a similar position a season ago, starting in place of Strief when the incumbent went down with an injury. But in that first game, he broke his fibula and dislocated his ankle.
'First week of camp with pads on was kind of testy with my leg,' Harris said. 'After that felt great.'
Meanwhile, safety Roman Harper (knee) has been out for nearly a full month and hasn't played in the past three games. Receiver Lance Moore has been scratched from the past two games after injuring his hand against Arizona and hasn't practiced for nearly three full weeks.
Defensive end Tyrunn Walker also was out Thursday after missing practice all last week leading up to the game in Chicago.
Cornerback Keenan Lewis (knee), safety Malcolm Jenkins (neck), linebacker Ramon Humber (leg), defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (calf) and running back Mark Ingram (toe) were limited.
