COVINGTON, La. -- A former employee of a St. Tammany Recreation District is under investigation for allegedly stealing more than $20,000 in concession money.

The investigation was revealed in an audit into District 14, in the Covington area, released by the Legislative Auditor's Office this morning.

The report accuses the employee, who was fired after the discovery, of taking the money from January 2012 until April 2013.

The district says it has changed internal controls to prevent incidents like this in the future.
