High school football in 2014 will mirror 2013 with separation for select and non-select schools.

The LHSAA voted Thursday and it became official Friday morning that Louisiana will once again have nine state champions in football.

There was a school of thought the LHSAA would go back to the old system, however, the margin to remain separate increased in this year's vote.

It's a dicey subject, invoking lots of emotions on both sides, mostly revolving around recruiting.
