NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Police Department has arrested an 'armed and dangerous' teen in reference to an April 14 murder.

According to police on Thursday at about 3:30 p.m., Gang Unit Detectives received information regarding the whereabouts of 17-year-old Johntrell 'John John' Washington.

Washington was wanted for last month's shooting death of 38-year-old Racquel Gillard in the 2300 block of Josephine Street.

Gang Unit detectives received information that Washington was in the 2300 block of M.L.K. boulevard so Gang Unit Detectives along, with the Sixth District Task Force, set up a perimeter in the area and located Washington without incident.

Washington was relocated to the Homicide Division where detectives conducted an interview.

Washington was later transported to Central Lockup where he was booked with one count of Second Degree Murder.
