NEW ORLEANS Three suspects have been arrested and two others are being sought in a home invasion where an 81-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint.
According to police, on Friday, July 25, two men knocked at the door of the victim in the 5600 block of Saint Helena Place in Michoud around 10 a.m. When the victim answered the door, he was forced into the back of the home by one gunman while two others ransacked the place, stealing electronics and jewelry.
Police said that night they got a report of a sighting of a stolen black Chevy Tahoe that was speeding down Chef Menteur Highway.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle, which sped off and then crashed into the Morrison Avenue canal. Three men raced out of the car, while a 20-year-old woman, identified as Aquarius Brown, had to be rescued from the submerged vehicle.
Later that evening, 18-year-old Troy Hawk was spotted walking and was apprehended with the victim's jewelry in his possession. In addition, 18-year-old Diamond Lampton was taken into custody and booked with harboring felons for stalling officers while two of the suspects escaped from her home.
Troy Hawk was booked into central lockup and charged with Home Invasion, Armed Robbery, felon with a Firearm, Possession of Stolen property, Auto Theft and Flight from an Officer. Hawk has been previously arrested for Rape, Injuring Public records, Bail Jumping, Obstruction of Justice and Illegal use of a Weapon.
Aquarius Brown was with Possession of a Stolen Automobile.
Arrest Warrants were issued for Reginald Worley and Dorian Franklin for the charges of Home Invasion, possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm.
