METAIRIE, La. Saints receiver Marques Colston missed his sixth consecutive practice and will not play in Friday's preseason opener against San Francisco, coach Sean Payton said.

Additionally, Payton said receiver Adrian Arrington, who missed the previous four practices before going on Thursday with a left ankle injury, will not play.

'He's close,' Payton said. 'He should be ready to come back and practice on Sunday.'

Meanwhile, right tackle Jon Stinchcomb, who missed two practices to rest his left leg, was full Thursday, as was tackle Roger Allen (left knee) and receiver Jarred Fayson (left ankle). All three will play in the game.

Linebacker Ezra Butler, who has been out with a left hamstring injury, had sports hernia surgery and will miss three weeks. Additionally, tackle Alex Barron had his left meniscus operated on and will miss the game.

Linebacker Ramon Humber (right quadriceps) and linebacker Clint Ingram (hamstring) are both not expected to play, either. Ingram has been practicing with both the first- and second-team at the strongside.

In addition to that group, three players continue to reside on the failed physical list cornerback Tracy Porter (left knee), defensive end Greg Romeus (right knee) and running back Chris Ivory (left foot, sports hernia).
