NEWORLEANS - The hearing was delayed for one of the alleged gunmen in the Mother's Day shooting. He was scheduled to appear in front of a judge on Wednesday.

Shawn Scott, 24, is being held on a $10 million bond. His motions hearing was set for 10 a.m.

Both he and his brother, Akein Scott, 19, were arrested earlier in May after a second line shooting in the Seventh Ward.

Police believe the brothers positioned themselves on opposite sides of the street and opened fire on a crowd of hundreds, which resulted in the injury of 20 people.

After being arrested, Shawn Scott said that he and his younger brother are innocent.

The Scotts each face 20 counts of attempted second degree murder. Shawn Scott also faces heroin and other drug charges after police found the paraphernalia in the house where he was arrested.

Five others were taken into custody for trying to help the brothers hide from police.

Police believe the brothers belong to the Frenchmen-Derbigny Boys gang.

On the same day that Shawn Scott will be in court, officers with NOPD's Fifth District and city officials are holding a crime walk near the scene of the shooting. The walk begins at 6 p.m. at St. Bernard and North Villere.
