NEW ORLEANS -- A Labrador retriever who was shot in New Orleans East on Sunday is back home with his family.

Flint's owners found him early Sunday morning with a gunshot wound. A bullet had shattered his leg, and it had to be amputated.

The owners couldn't afford the $1,000 vet bill, so a local dog daycare called Zeus' Place picked up the tab.

Flint's family says they will be forever indebted to those who helped them.

Flint's owner believes someone intentionally shot his dog, but the vet says it appears Flint was hit by a stray bullet because of the nature of the wound.
