NEW ORLEANS -- Another candidate has entered the race against incumbent Mitch Landrieu for next year's mayoral race.

Civil District Court Judge Michael Bagneris tendered his resignation Wednesday, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office.

Sources close to the judge tell Eyewitness Investigator Mike Perlstein that Bagneris will qualify for mayor to challenge Mitch Landrieu.

The primary is scheduled for Feb. 1.
