The Eyewitness Morning News continues the series of interviews with the candidates running for Orleans Parish Sheriff by welcoming Ira Thomas the fourth and final candidate in the race.

Thomas is 56-years-old, and a New Orleans native. He is a Loyola graduate who formerly served as a NOPD Lieutenant, for 28 years and is currently in his second term with the Orleans Parish School Board. Thomas ran for sheriff once before, in 2004, and he joins the Eyewitness Morning News to talk about why he's running for sheriff again.

Early voting continues all this week for the February 1 elections. You can vote at three locations during the week, as well as the new location at Veterans and West End Boulevards, although that location is open only on Saturday. Click here for more information and a sample ballot.
