More than three years after the proposal was advanced, the city of New Orleans is adopting a public-private partnership for economic development.

The partnership's 17 member board, the NOLA Business Alliance has hired the organization's first Chief Executive Officer, Rodrick Miller, a longtime economic development professional, to lead the new effort to grow jobs and lure business to New Orleans.

Miller, who starts the job next month, was chosen after a three month nationwide search, and is currently Vice President of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce.
