METAIRIE, La. - The defense will begin laying out it's case Friday in the trial of a man who's accused of raping and killing a woman in Lafreniere Park.

Edmundo Cerda-Anima is charged with second degree murder in the death of Sandra Adams, 51, back in 2006.

Amina has admitted to hitting Adams with his vehicle but has denied raping her.

On Thursday, a DNA analyst testified that Adams' DNA was found in Anima's truck and on his pants and told jurors that the evidence pointed to a homicide and rape, not a car accident.
