BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 presidential and other elections is Tuesday.

This registration deadline applies to new registrants as well as those who want to make changes to their registration information.

New applicants must be at least 18 years old before Nov. 6 and citizens of the United States.

Apply in person to register to vote at any Registrar of Voters' Office or at any of the following sites:

  • Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles;
  • Louisiana Department of Social Services offices and WIC offices, Food Stamp offices and Medicaid offices;
  • offices serving persons with disabilities such as the Deaf Action Centers and Independent Living offices; and
  • Armed Forces recruitment offices.

Naturalized citizens must present their naturalization papers and birth certificate in person to register.

All registrants should bring proper identification such as a driver's license, birth certificate or other documentation that establishes age, identity and residency.
