ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. - Four men have been arrested in connection with a St. Rose murder two weeks ago, deputies said.

OnFriday, St. Charles Parish sheriff's deputies, working with St. John the Baptist sheriff's deputies and NewOrleans police, arrested Janerio Dewey, 23, of St. Rose, and Ramon Vinnett, 21, of Boutte.

Joshua Avery, 24, and Calvin Avery Jr., 19, turned themselves in to the sheriff's office early Sunday morning.

Each of the four men was booked with one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

They are suspects in the Jan. 11 murder of Michael McCray and the attempted murder of Leslie Reed. McCray's murder was the first of the year in St. Charles Parish. He and Reed were shot while sitting in a parked car, deputies said. The two were high school friends. McCray was about to start college, family members said.
