METAIRIE, La. Running back Pierre Thomas missed his second straight day of practice with a chest injury, a development that could potentially be a bad break for the Saints.

But coach Sean Payton expressed confidence in those who would step up in Thomas' place if their roles need to grow.

'I think all those guys, when you look at what Mark (Ingram) has done, what Khiry (Robinson) has done we've got good depth there,' Payton said.

Ingram is the team's second-leading rusher with 386 yards on 78 carries. His 4.9 yards per carry are best on the roster and he has run for better than five yards-per-carry in each of the past three games.

Robinson, meanwhile, has 224 yards and a touchdown on 54 carries. While he has been used to run the clock out in several games, he ended up playing a key role in the Saints' game at New England, when he rushed for 53 yards and a score on seven carries.

Meanwhile, safety Rafael Bush (ankle) remained the only other player on New Orleans' injury report as he was limited Thursday.
