NEWORLEANS- Two men were injured after they got into a fight and shots were fired near the intersection of South Rampart St. and Canal Street Friday afternoon.

According to police, a 23-year-old man identified as Michael Sanders, said he was walking in the 100 block of South Rampart when he was approached by 29-year-old Ronald Davis and two other men. Sanders and Davis immediately began fighting and one of the men with Davis then struck Sanders over the head with a pistol and fired several shots at him.

Davis and the other men fled the scene and Sanders gave chase down Tulane Avenue, firing shots at Davis, with one striking him in the leg.

Both Davis and Sanders were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both men have been treated and released from the hospital.

Michael Sanders was booked into Central Lock up and charged with Illegal Carrying of a Firearm and Possession of Stolen Property. The weapon he used in the shooting was reported stolen out of Jefferson Parish. Ronald Davis was charged and booked with Principal to Aggravated Battery by Shooting.

Two suspects remain at large. The first suspect nicknamed 'Scully,' is described as an African American male, dark complexion, 5'6' to 5'7 in height, dark shirt and light colored pants.

The second suspect nicknamed 'Tooty,' is described as an African American male, brown complexion, clean shaven, and 5'8' to 5'9' in height. He was last seen all dark clothing. Both suspects fled the area on foot.
