A New Orleans bakery best known for its Melba toast has quietly gone out of business again. The 105- year-old Turnbull Bakeries confirmed on its website that it has closed the Lower Garden District bakery and auctioned off its machinery.

The first time the company shut down was when co-founder Elizabeth Turnbull died back in 2010. Months later, her son and granddaughters reopened the facility.

On the website, the family issued a statement saying, 'After over 100 years in the baking business the Turnbull family has made the difficult decision to end our baking operations. Thank you for all your support over the years.'
