LAROSE, La. A Golden Meadow man was arrested for his fourth DWI after his truck ran out of gas while he attempted to flee deputies, a Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Department official said Tuesday.

Along with the DWI, Anthony Leboeuf Jr., 33, was charged with a litany of offences, including aggravated flight from an officer, disturbing the peace by appearing in an intoxicated condition and public intimidation.

According to LPSD Public Information Officer Brennan Matherne, deputies responded to a 'disturbance' in Larose along West 21st Street. Once there, they found Leboeuf in his truck and asked him to get out.

Instead, Leboeuf sped away, nearly striking a deputy as he zoomed by, Matherne said. They chased after the truck, following it down West 25th Street and through neighborhoods before turning onto La. Hwy. 1.

Leboeuf's truck then ran out of fuel, forcing the truck to come to a stop as he turned onto West 33rd Street, Matherne said.

Inside the truck, deputies found several open containers and a Leboeuf showed a blood alcohol level of .083 percent, Matherne said. Additionally, he claimed that the arresting deputies would lose their jobs because he knew people in the community, the PIO said.

Leboeuf was released Monday after posting bond.
