NEW ORLEANS -- The Bywater and St. Claude neighborhoods are one step closer to getting a new grocery store.

Officials with Robert's Fresh Market announced Wednesday that the company has taken control of the old Schwegmann's building on Elysian Fields.

Robert's was also granted access to nearly $2.6 million in insurance money for Katrina damages.

However, renovations won't likely begin for at least another year while the company develops architectural plans to bring the building up to code.
