KENNER, La. - I-10 east reopened around 5:15 pm Monday after it had been shut down for about three hours following a food truck fire.

The 18-wheel truck with a trailer burst into flames on I-10 eastbound between Williams Blvd. and Loyola Friday afternoon, shutting down traffic on the interstate.

The fire was extinguished before 2 p.m. and the Kenner Fire Department was to spread sand over the area of fuel spillage. Kenner Fire Dept. said that no hazardous materials are involved.

State Police said the driver managed to escape unharmed.
