NEW ORLEANS -- This week we celebrate the quintessentially American holiday of Thanksgiving. It's the perfect time to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for.
The Saints are 9-2, leading their division and getting a well-deserved rest before a big showdown next Monday against Seattle.
The Saenger recently re-opened to rave reviews. The historic theater is drawing big crowds downtown, to the delight of local restaurants.
New Orleans recently made National Geographic Traveler's worldwide list of 20 'must-see' places for 2014. Only two were in the U.S., and we were one of them. Nat Geo called New Orleans 'The Imperishable City' and compared us to Rome, as in 'eternal.'
And in just a few days, the 2013 hurricane season will be over. It was supposed to be an active one. It wasn't.
I could go on, but now it's your turn. Spend some time between now and Thursday making a list of things you're thankful for. As New Orleanians, and as Americans, we have lots of reasons to be grateful. Let's never forget that.
