NEWORLEANS-- Police are investigating the city's latest murder. A male victim was fatally shot in the 2800 block of Milan Street, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Shortly after 2 p.m., NOPD spokesman Officer Garry Flot confirmed that the 24-year-old male victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the body.

Initially, the victim was listed in stable condition, but around 2:30 p.m., Flot said that the victim had died.

According to the NOPD, police received a call of a man shot, and upon their arrival found the man shot lying on the ground in the rear yard of a house.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he died.
