NEW ORLEANS -- The Saints held a special ceremony on Monday for former defensive back Steve Gleason as he battles Lou Gehrig's Disease. The team handed him his own Super Bowl ring at an emotional gathering of friends and family.

Among the attendants were members of the team, former Saints linebacker Scott Fujita, former kick returner Michael Lewis, and Mayor Mitch Landrieu.

The mayor even had a gift ready for Gleason, said Greg Bensel, a spokesman for the Saints.

'Mayor Landrieu gave him key to the city, Coach Payton gave him the ring and Scott Fujita gave him hell,' Bensel wrote on Twitter.
