NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Raekwon James scored two long touchdowns as perennial power River Ridge John Curtis beat No. 2 seed Winnfield 33-3 in the Louisiana Class 2A championship game on Saturday.

It was the 24th state title but the first in three years for No. 1 seed John Curtis (14-0), which has reached the championship game in 16 consecutive seasons under high school coaching legend J.T. Curtis.

James had a 45-yard touchdown run on John Curtis' opening possession. Then, with the Patriots protecting a 7-3 lead, he raced 42 yards to the end zone on a swing pass early in the third quarter.

John Curtis sealed the victory on Sherman Badie's 43-yard scoring run a few minutes later and tacked on 13 more points the rest of the way.

Winnfield (14-1) outgained John Curtis 155-83 in the first half but scored its only points on a last-second field goal. Quarterback Alonzo Moore's interception in the end zone stymied one drive.
