ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. After a woman discovered a hidden camera in her bedroom, she alerted deputies and later found another in her bathroom ceiling, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

Police arrested William Gill Stroud III, 42, of Metairie for placing the cameras in the woman's Northshore family home.

On July 20, she discovered the camera in a hole drilled in the top of her bedroom entertainment center, deputies said.

A few days later, after having reported the first camera to authorities, another camera was found in the bathroom ceiling.

Detectives discovered that the video had been transmitted wirelessly from the cameras to a video recorder located in another area within the home. It has yet to be determined if the files were made accessible over the internet.

The victim identified herself and her two juvenile children on the recordings, deputies said.

An arrest warrant was issued and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office found him at his home on Wednesday, deputies said.

He was transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail and booked on charges of video voyeurism and simple criminal damage to property (related to the drilling of the entertainment center.) He was released on a $35,000 signature bond on Friday night.

If convicted, Stroud faces up to 20 years of hard labor and a maximum fine of $10,000.

Details are being withheld to protect the identity of the victims, the sheriff's office said.
