WASHINGTONPARISH, La. -- A satellite installer and former New Orleans police officer who was wanted by the Washington Parish deputies for allegedly sexually assaulting a customer has turned himself into authorities, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office had a warrant for the arrest of Jermaine Lacour, 30, of New Orleans, who was dismissed from the New Orleans Police Department in May 2012, for forcible rape.
Lacour turned himself into the Washington Parish Jail Wednesday afternoon.
On May 29, according to the sheriff's office, a woman was attacked by a satellite technician, identified as Lacour, who was at her home to install television service.
After completing the installation, Lacour allegedly attacked and initiated a violent sexual assault on the victim. Before he could complete the assault, he became frightened and fled, according to the sheriff's office.
Lacour joined the NOPD in 2007, but was dismissed followed convictions for violating a protective order and criminal negligent discharge of a weapon in early 2012.
