Can fighting Type 2 diabetes be as simple as snacking on some pistachios?

A new study says maybe and Mackie Shilstone joins the Eyewitness Morning News with more.

Study conclusion for pistachio nuts:

'Regular consumption of pistachios could decrease insulin resistance, thus suggesting a potential protective role for pistachio consumption against the development of Type 2 diabetes.'

'Inclusion of 43 grams of almonds into a daily diet, especially as snacks, may help to moderate glycemia without promoting weight gain.'

Mackie's got more information on these studies, plus much more, on his website.
