NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have arrested a man minutes after someone fired shots at officers Thursday night Uptown. The officers weren't injured.

It happened just before 10 p.m. in the 3400 block of Clara Street.

NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson said the officers were not shot and the suspect is still at large.

Police set up a perimeter around the area to search for the suspect, and a half an hour later, K-9 units brought a man into custody in the 2800 block of Amelia Street.

Police haven't identified the man, and they haven't confirmed that he is the suspected shooter.

Robertson said it's not clear what may have sparked the fire from the gunman.

If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
