PORT ALLEN, La. -- Port Allen native and second-year New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter returned to his home town to deliver gifts to children from his old neighborhood, known as The Village.

Porter was accompanied Monday by a big white moving truck filled with dozens of new bicycles.

Sporting a Santa hat, Porter began handing out bikes as kids pushed their way to the front of the crowd to claim a new set of wheels.

Porter said if felt good to give something to the kids in what he called a struggling area.

The bicycle giveaway created quite a stir on a small Port Allen street.

Port Allen Police Chief Fred Smith directed his officers to close the street to vehicles as he and Mayor Derek Lewis watched from the side.
