NEW ORLEANS Both of the suspects wanted by New Orleans police in the shooting of a father and son in Mid-City have surrendered to authorities, according to New Orleans Police Department spokesman Officer Remi Braden.

Joseph Tate, 20, turned himself into NOPD detectives at police headquarters around 10 p.m. Sunday, and shortly after 2 pm Monday, 25-year-old Tabari Butler, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself in to Central Lock-Up. Both were charged with 2 counts of First Degree Murder.

Tate and Butler were wanted by police in connection with a fatal double shooting in Mid-City Sunday. Just after midnight, 41-year-old Joseph Evans and his 17-year-old son Joseph Elliot were gunned down inside a home in the 2800 block of St. Louis Street.

A second suspect remains at large. Tabari Butler, 25, is still wanted by police.
